History

The history of Baroda Homoeopathic Medical College dates back to 1992 when it was first established as a pioneering institute for study in Homoeopathy in the City of Vadodara. The ‘Paradise Foundation Trust’ under the able leadership of Shri ManibhaiA Shah (Vasanwala)& others started this College with Diploma course (D.H.M.S.) in Homoeopathy. The first batch had 50 Students.

Since the day of inception the College & Management has left no stone unturned to improve the standard of Homeopathic Education in the state. The staff spared no efforts to provide quality education with excellence. The students too echoed with enthusiasm and topped in the Council’s Merit list every year.

The college received permission to start the Bachelor’s course in Homoeopathy (B.H.M.S.) in the year 1996-97 with an intake of 50 students. Having received the affiliation & recognition from both the State & the Centre, the students and the staff kept the efforts and excellence in teaching homoeopathy at its best. Resulting many BHMC students appearing in the University merit list. The intake capacity of the college was upgraded to 100 in the year 2003.

With the increase in girl student seeking admission the trust decided to build the Girls Hostel which was inaugurated in 2002 with an intake capacity of 200 girls. The girls Hostel was shifted in the college campus in 2006 and is very secured and safe.

The new modern college and hospital building became functional in 2006.The college started its Post Graduate department in 2010-11 which is one of the best in the state and for which the college is proud of. Currently the intake is 9 students, 3 each in subjects of Homoeopathic MateriaMedica, Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic Repertory.
